Mark McCollom, Owner of McCollom Construction, Inc. In 1976, Mark McCollom started McCollom Construction in Augusta, Kansas and serves the Wichita Metro area. McCollom previously worked as an Assistant Job Supervisor with condo builder Leisure Living.
"I wanted to start my own construction company so that I could be a part of every aspect of building a home," McCollom explains.
Now, Mark and his team are building between 35 to 45 homes a year ranging from $175,000 to $1.8 million. His homes are in The Lakes at Northridge, Flint Hills National, Crestlake, Terradyne West, Sienna Ranch, Willowbrook, Fiddler's Cove, The Rosemont at Hawthorne, Reed's Cove Reserve, Savanna Castle Rock Ranch and Country Hills. He is a member of the Wichita Area Builders Association and has shown his superior work in the Parade of Homes.
In the Fall 2006 Parade of Homes, one home built by Mark McCollom and his team, located at 6205 Southwest Pinebluff in the Lakes at Northridge, was awarded Judges Award for Pick of the Parade and also Judges Award for Effective Design. This creative floor plan received exception feedback for his overall design, unique amenities and cyclone fireplace located in the kitchen.
Mark and his wife, Kay, have made Augusta their home since 1978. Mark is active in the Wichita Area Builders Association, the Augusta Arts Council, the Augusta Historic Theatre Restoration Board, the Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Augusta, Inc., the Frisco Depot Project, the Augusta Building Codes Board and the Board of Appeals.
"I feel that my homes help build the Wichita area. And I should do the same," McCollom says of his role in community committees and activities. "I take pride in my work and I take pride in my community."
